MR CTL Release

Registration for all six Bismarck-Mandan High School Clay Target League teams competing in the 2022 Spring North Dakota State High School Clay Target League (ND CTL) will begin on Feb. 1 and run through 5pm on Mar. 1. The spring season consists of seven weeks: a practice week, a reserve week, and five weeks of league competition on Sunday afternoons (excluding Easter) from Mar. 27 to May 15.

This season, participants can join one or all of four shooting sports disciplines: trap, skeet, 5-stand or sporting clays.  Trap rounds will be logged at Capital City Gun Club located four miles north of Bismarck on Highway 83.  Skeet, 5-stand and sporting clays will be logged at Capital City Sporting Clays located ten miles east of Bismarck on 71st Ave NE. Trap is capped at 240 participants. Registration will be open until 5pm sharp on Tue. Mar. 1 or until any caps have been met.

The Spring 2022 season cost for trap is $350.00 via credit card online for local costs and $35.00 by credit card online to the ND CTL for league registration costs beginning Mar. 2.  Costs cover all shells and targets for the entire spring season and include a team jersey. Participants will receive five certain sequentially numbered raffle tickets to sell, and upon selling those five certain sequentially numbered raffle tickets will be eligible for a $100.00 payment from MR CTL pursuant to N.D.A.C. Sec. 99-01.3-05-02(2) to help further offset the already-reduced costs of the spring season.

The Spring and Fall 2021-22 seasons were very successful for Bis-Man CTL teams, with spring conference trap team titles for Bismarck and Mandan, and runner-up conference awards for Legacy, Century and St. Mary’s in the regular season. At the state tournament in June, St. Mary’s Isaac Wanner captured the overall and men’s 1A trap championship and Legacy’s Samantha Bauer took the 3A ladies’ trap title. In skeet, Will Gebhardt of BHS won the men’s title, and Century’s Rachel Dunlop was the ladies’ high gun. In fall, St. Mary’s won the 1A conference trap team title, with Wanner taking the men’s conference honors and Madeline Erickson capturing the women’s conference title for the Saints. Legacy’s Jacob Schirado was the conference 6A high gun, and Century’s Morgan Jensen took top honors for the ladies in the conference.
